How To Get There?

If you travel to Slovenia using public transport, we recommend combining it with the shuttle transport to the final destination in Portorož:

By Plane

The nearest international airports:

Upon arrival to the airport:

  • use the GoOpti shuttle company to reach the 4th TTT Conference venue in Portorož (recommended),
  • use taxi or other shuttle bus transfers, e.g. Zup-prevozi (alternative).

By Car

Slovenia and Portorož can be easily reached via major highways from all neighbouring countries: Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia.

Please, note that if you travel by car you will need a vignette to use Slovenian motorways: it can be purchased at gas stations in Slovenia, but we recommend buying it at any gas station in Italy, Austria, Hungary or Croatia before entering Slovenia. We recommend the weekly vignette (15 EUR).

By Bus

Slovenia and Portorož can also be reached from neighbouring countries by bus.

There are several buses running daily between Ljubljana (you can use taxi or bus to get from the airport to the Ljubljana bus station) and Koper with further connections to Portorož; the journey takes just under 3 hours. You may want to consult the Ljubljana bus station website for details.

There is also a daily international bus from Trieste Central bus station (Italy) to Portorož bus station running Monday to Friday. For more information please check the Arriva bus company’s timetable.

By Train

Although Slovenia can easily be reached by train as there are regular connections with Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Croatia, there are no direct lines to Portorož. You have to get to Ljubljana, Koper or Trieste (Italy) first and then use GoOpti low-cost shuttle, taxi or bus to reach Portorož.
